Okay, We're Back....

I confess, I've taken some informal walks over the last couple months since last we walked formally as a group. It's been a very busy time, good busy, but none the less, so I haven't been sending out my reminder emails each week. But Louise and Lynn are die-hard walkers so when one or the other suggests a spontaneous walk, I'm usually up for it. We've been heading in the opposite direction lately. Today Louise and I took a "formal" walk along the Fenway. This route lasts an hour and a half as compared to Parker Hill Ave which is about one hour. To get to the Fenway we walk along Muddy River for the first mile then we follow the river as it goes underground and comes up again around the bend.

Take a Seed, Cultivate an Idea
We pass through the Victory Gardens on the way home which at this time of year is spectacular. There was an art gallery there inviting appreciation of the community garden concept. This board hold little packets of seeds. When you take a packet, underneath a spiritual message is revealed.

Social Roots

I'm afraid my new phone doesn't do justice to the rich colors. The Social Roots photo shows a boat shaped structure with burlap bags hanging. Inside each is a flower cutting for the taking...or leaving.

Oh, I can't forget to mention the giant tortoise we saw. I couldn't pull out the camera, poor thing, it quivered if the wind blew.

Briefly as I wind down, I'll recap the last month of excitement in our family. Sophia turned 18 the last days of May and her senior prom and After the Prom Party were a week later (here in the dress I made her). She got her driver's license and graduated from high school in the same weekend, and then left for camp to be a counselor! All within about 3 weeks.

And we miss her so much.

See you next week.
