Happy New Year 2012!!!

What a lovely day!!  It is incredibly sunny and so mild for January 1st.  We had a crowd today, 5 of us.  We walked almost blindly, so lost in conversation and energy, it didn't matter in which direction we went.  Two friends from BHS, two from TOS, and I overlapped both.  No men today.  There we are in the photo, that's the shadow of Hilda's head's at the bottom.  She was our designated photographer.

But for the life of me I can't remember what we talked about!!  Wait, let me put my thinking cap on.....I remember some health-and-exercise-and-love-of-eating talk!  And of course we ogled photos of Lynn's new granddaughter, a couple weeks old already.  Oh, what a beauty!  She looks so peaceful.  There was a bit of teenagers-going-to-college talk.  But the focus actually shifted to remembering when we were teenagers and how much we wanted to leave home and how we now know how much that hurt our parents!  Sorry Mom :(

Black berries
(as opposed to blackberries)
This has been a wonderful week for me. I had virtually the same vacation as the schools, except for a few hours of work on Thursday.  It was unexpected and welcome.  But look out Tuesday!

I recently finished reading (audio book) The Angel's Game.  Loved it, the reader was phenomenal.  His accents and voices were so beautifully done, so believable.  (I think male readers do women better than female readers do men.)  It took place in Barcelona and was about writers facing a bit of the supernatural which slipped in unexpectedly, to me anyway.  Actually, now that I think of it, that piece was never really resolved.  Hmmmm.  Did anyone out there read it?  Did I miss something at the end?  I did love it though, I didn't want it to end.  I am usually ready for a book to end, even a good one.

If anyone has a good book to recommend, send it as a comment so we can all benefit.

And before signing off, I want to take a moment to send love and regards from all of us to Diane who lost her dad this past week.  We're thinking of you, Diane, that's why your ears are buzzing.

Happy 2012!

;)
