I totally blew this off last week, but unintentionally. I simply forgot. It happens. Could it be that I have too much on my mind? Naw. At least no more than any of you. It's like a mantra that we all use. My To-Do list is so long, it's having babies. (credit for that line goes to my brother-in-law) For me, though, it's actually a truth, ask Howard. My To-Do list is on an Excel spreadsheet. The file has 13 worksheets....really. He's been counselling me lately on how to shorten it, make it less overwhelming. I carry around 3 8.5x11 sheets of paper at all times. His is handwritten on an index card. So I ask you, how do you remember all the zillions of things that need to be remembered without writing it down? Like my ex-husbands last 4 digits of his SS#....yes, I really needed that once about a year ago and was glad that I had it on one of those sheets of paper. Any suggestions on how to pare down? I'll gladly take them. Add a comment or send an email. If I get any really good ideas I might post them here. The best one will get $25 and a giftbag from the Body Shop....yeah, right, if I write it down and remember!
Well, you may have noticed a little snow this morning. Again. OMG, enough already! But 3 die hards did make the trek. Howard and Lynn joined me and it was GORGEOUS! The fresh clean snow covered the filthy mess that was. Howard even threw a few snowballs. One, I'm told, missed my head by an inch. I was oblivious, though, busy admiring the beauty around me. And it wasn't even terribly cold. I took some photos with my phone and if can figure out how to upload them, I'll post them later. So come back to see. Or else I'll post them next week. We skipped The Hill today, opted for a different route. We walked along Muddy River by the Brook House, up to Highland Ave. by the park and around back to High Street. Not much of that extra uphill-exertion but it was nice.
We experimented with "jumping for joy." I recently read that you simply can't be unhappy when you jump up high! It actually works. My own dear husband was feeling a bit grumpy and hungry today while waiting for his lunch to cook. I had him laughing within moments! Of course he was a willing subject, grump and all. But give it a try. Write in a comment about the results. Come onnnnn, I want a comment (that's me whining). It'll be fun! And there are certainly other things that make us happy, let us know yours... Lynn is happy because she got her taxes done early! YAY Lynn!
Oh, here's an interesting story. Advah's laundry basket instantaneously combusted the other day. REALLY. Apparently these things do happen. (or maybe she just wanted us to buy her some new clothes... ;) No really, she hasn't asked for any. We did give her an old rug to cover the burnt spot in her brand new burber carpet, though.
Okay, til next week, or sooner if I get those photos up.
Ohh, ohh, I just thought of something else to tell you about. I read that when you have a craving for something unhealthy, if you clench your muscles, like your biceps, the craving disappears. I AM HERE TO TELL YOU THAT IT WORKS! YES! I craved something sweet after lunch and I clenched all the muscles in my arms for a moment or two and sure enough the craving left me immediately! And 2 hours later, it's still working! Try it.....
