A Change of Scenery

On a whim we took a different route today, a different hill, we went up High Street and down again.  We wove a little to the right, a little to the left and except for a few spots where the sidewalk wasn't shoveled enough, or at all, it was lovely. That's Lynn and Howard to the left.  I was pleased to catch a spot with clean white snow!

The lack of sunshine didn't stop me from wearing my shades--or shooting a photo through them...cool trick!  (Of course it looks more sepia-toned than sunlit. Well that's what I was going after, wasn't it?!)

But the highlight for me was a magical tree on Chestnut Street. It was strewn with so many colorful mobiles and ornaments. Notice the red and black bench buried in the snow in the far background of the detail shot on the right.

Conversation is always interesting, ranging from college sports (Lynn's son is on the track team) to college in general (Sophia will be applying soon) to movies (we saw Deja Vu with Denzel last night, better than we expected) to investment-grade rugs (yup!)

I'm sure I will be forgiven for not going on and on here. I actually find myself with a couple of free hours ahead of me this weekend with no errands to run or chores to do and I'm feeling itchy to do something fun just for me!  It doesn't happen often. Yesterday I diagnosed myself with "weekend anxiety." It comes when the to-do list looms and I just know that I won't be able to finish it all and I'm hungry and cranky and who has time to make lunch when there's so much to do and so little time....been there?
