Another Flat Weekend

The Hill is alluding me.  What can I say...? It is winter. I should probably change the little paragraph at the top that introduces this blog. But there's just no inspiration in winter for a non-skier* like myself. It's cold, rainy, snowy, cold, too many layers, and did I say cold? Maybe it's Zita....last week she wanted to walk up the hill with me for the very first time!! Then came the snow and ice and so we chickened out. One week later we had all good intentions until it rained this morning and SHE chickened out. (OK, I was glad, I admit it!)
But I did walk 2 miles yesterday, albeit a flat walk to BB&B to spend some money. Let's see, walk up a steep hill? Or walk the flatlands to shop...no contest! And the route along Muddy River is lovely. It was a balmy 50 degrees and the sun was shining in January. It was a gift. I was alone with my book on tape (The Blindspot: A Gentleman in Exile and a Lady in Disguise--loving it, expecially his wonderful Scottish accent. Another historical fiction taking place here in Boston in 1765. Revolution is in the air, the end of slavery on everyone's mind, art, murder, and, of course, love.)
But I digress. Well, actually, it's probably time to sign off anyway. Back to the gym tomorrow.

Happy 2011 everyone!

Okay, so we didn't take any pictures this year....

*I did ski a bit when I was 9 and 10, I loved the J-Bar at the Blue Hills.
