Well, it's been an unusual walking weekend. First, I was uninspired to walk at all due to lack of time and a continued lack of computer, which is really cramping my style. But Saturday turned out to be a gorgeous day. And a really good one, too. It started with meditation in the morning, followed by yoga and lunch with friends at TOS. Of course I almost sabotaged my meditation, leave it to me....I forgot my new yoga mat which I'd been so excited about and that's all I could think about as meditation was beginning. I remembered that Sophia was coming soon for the Bat Mitzvah service. So after a lovely, peace-inducing nigun, and as the others began their guided meditation to a peaceful sandy beach, I jumped up--very quietly so as not to disturb--and ran out to call and ask her to bring me the mat. Upon my quick return, I found that I'd clearly lost my sense of peace at the beach. I really tried to feel that sand and collect those shells as the waves lapped at my feet but my mind wandered to the cost of our next beach vacation, and the moment was lost. The good news was that the peace caught up to me and the next meditation was so good, an outer-body experience if I ever had one.
I floated off to yoga class--mat in hand, thank you Sophia--and proceeded to have an inner-body experience. Yes, every muscle in my body strained and stretched and screamed into Triangle Pose and then my head and heart and muscles rejoiced in their success! 36 hours later, they are still screaming but they are content. I enjoyed lunch with good friends and then floated on home.
A little new-computer research later I called Lynn on her cell and found her at Best Buy, looking at new computers! It was meant to be so I said: Hang on a few, I'll be right over. The sun was shining, it was almost warm (it is December), my book-on-tape was playing, and I booked it over to Best Buy enjoying Muddy River all the way. It was no steep hill but it was lovely.
Giovani at Best Buy was so cute, he nearly sold me a giant Mac for $3000. But after all, I am a PC and in the end I could not do it (not that it was ever really a consideration.)
So the research continues....and tomorrow is Monday.
Next week Parker Hill Ave. on Sunday with Zita! Any joiners?
