Never a dull moment with so many interesting conversations going on. There was talk of TOS, of course, rabbis, cantors and galas; summering with hillbillies; kids who have lived on Mission Hill at some point and who are all grown up now and others who aren't quite; roses you can eat and tomatoes you can wear(?).....While some of us walked fast and some slow, we all stopped long enough to admire those roses and to wait for Diane to tie her shoelaces, again. (Those laces must be waterproof.)
There's a marvelous stone wall that we learned from a local resident was built in the Depression Era. Unfortunately it is in need of repairs. Maybe we can organize a group to go and make those repairs since the City of Boston is dragging it's feet. Larry, you're good at chairing committees....
I was thinking that it might be a nice idea to share book titles....I know, it has nothing whatsoever to do with walking up a hill. But I like to read and I like to hear about good books and since this is my blog I can do whatever I want. I was reading The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana by Umberto Eco but I confess I put it down after about 60 pages. It was quite charming for a while but then it got bogged down with descriptions of things he found in the attic and I lost interest. Has anyone read that and can you assure me that it's worth plowing through?
